It’s that time of the year again. Christmas is here and full of cheer. Well….not exactly. This holiday season has been full of chaos and stress. Normally, I would be watching my childhood Christmas movies. Alternatively, I watch those over-the-top and cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies, along with a bottle of wine. But this year, I haven’t been watching anything or listening to Christmas music. It just been feeling depressing or uninspiring this year. With everything going on with the world, it’s been hard to truly get into the spirit. I believe majority of people are feeling the holiday blues as well. Whelp, I noticed the one thing that cheers me up is a good cup of specialty made coffee. That’s right. Sometimes you got to find a good holiday perk up to get you through tough days.

I woke up this morning trying to find motivation to be in the Christmas spirit. So I decided to experiment with coffee flavors and alcohol to create an energetic perk up. I’m not really a coffee drinker. It makes me super sleepy. But, when I do drink coffee, it brings me joy and warmth. Anyways, I remembered that I brought some eggnog, whip cream, and rum yesterday. Thus, led me to try this idea I had in my head for days. I call it Cinnamon Dolce Eggnog Delight. This delicious coffee perked me up real good. I was singing Christmas songs and caught a few movies. This tasty drink consist of vanilla syrup, eggnog, milk, cinnamon dolce k-pod, Malibu Coconut Rum, caramel drizzle, and whip cream. It sounds odd but it was actually good. If you like your coffee sweet, then give this a try and see if it don’t perk you up.

How to make it?

It is very simple to make and it all depends on how you make your coffee. Do you use K-pods? or coffee grounds? either way, it still will be a tasty treat. I pour the vanilla syrup in the coffee cup first. Then I add some eggnog and a little bit of milk. Next, I put it into the microwave to heat up for 1 min. Why? because anything cold, especially milk, makes my coffee warm and not hot. After, I take the cup out of the microwave. I put it on the keurig. Then, I add the cinnamon dolce pod and set it to 6 oz. Now depending on the cup size, you can alter the amounts to your liking. Lastly, I remove the cup and add some whip cream and some caramel drizzle. And there you have it. A nice cup of Cinnamon Dolce Eggnog Delight.

I think experimenting with flavors is a good way to brighten the day. It made me feel better about the holidays. I’m excited for Christmas….because I’m not working LOL. Honestly, I was supposed to but I gave it away. I rather spend that time with family and coming up with different drinks to tell you all about. In the spirit of Christmas, give it a try and have a very blessed rest of the year.
